Isotretinoin β Accutane by Dragon Pharma
Accutane is Dragon Pharma's formulation of Isotretinoin at 20mg per tablet β a powerful oral retinoid used for severe, treatment-resistant acne. Supplied in a 100-tablet pack, Isotretinoin works by significantly reducing sebaceous gland activity, addressing acne at its source rather than treating individual breakouts.

What Is Isotretinoin (Accutane)?
Isotretinoin is a vitamin A derivative (retinoid) that reduces the size and activity of sebaceous glands, the skin's oil-producing glands. By significantly decreasing sebum production, Isotretinoin addresses the underlying cause of severe acne β excess oil combined with clogged pores and bacterial activity β rather than managing symptoms topically. It is typically reserved for severe, cystic or treatment-resistant acne that has not responded to topical treatments or antibiotics.
Relevance for AAS Users
Androgenic anabolic steroids β particularly those with higher androgenic ratings β commonly increase sebum production and can trigger or worsen acne, including on the back and chest ("bacne") in addition to facial acne. For users experiencing severe, cystic acne during a cycle that doesn't respond to standard topical treatments, Isotretinoin is sometimes used as a more aggressive intervention. However, Isotretinoin does not address the underlying hormonal cause (elevated androgens) β it manages the skin's response. Reducing the androgenic load of a cycle, where possible, addresses the cause directly.
Effects and Benefits
- Significant, often long-lasting reduction in sebum production and acne severity
- Addresses severe cystic acne that has not responded to topical treatments or antibiotics
- Can prevent acne scarring by resolving severe breakouts at the source
- One course of treatment often provides sustained improvement well beyond the treatment period
- No direct hormonal or anabolic effects β does not interact with AAS pharmacology in terms of testosterone or estrogen
Dosage and Administration
| Phase | Typical Dose | Duration |
|---|---|---|

| Standard course | 0.5β1 mg/kg/day | 15β20 weeks total, typically |
Isotretinoin is typically dosed based on body weight, starting at a lower dose and potentially increasing based on response and tolerability. A full course often runs several months, with the goal of reaching a cumulative dose associated with sustained remission. Dosing should be guided by a healthcare provider given the significant side effect profile and monitoring requirements.
